Set Visions would like to wish you all an extremely Merry Christmas
and cheers to a fantastic New Year. We couldn’t resist using Huey, our studio
mascot, as the face of this year’s Christmas card in his very own CGI snow
globe.
We are hugely excited for 2017. The next instalment of our
Interior Trend Video Blog will kick us off in January, followed by the launch last
of our Set Visions websites, completing our rebrand.
Our offices will be closing on Friday 23rd of
December with the full team returning on Tuesday 3rd of January 2017. To keep
update with all the news and goings on at HQ simply add your details to our mailing list. We’re now off to embrace the Hygge lifestyle- Although,
we must remember; if we make CGI mince pies, we can’t eat them!

As the nation falls in love with the Danish
‘Hygge’ home movement - if you have not heard of it yet well you will now - after
all, Denmark was voted one of the happiest places to live, and with this
philosophy in life we totally agree.
In essence ‘Hygge’ means creating a cosy, homely, warm atmosphere whilst
enjoying the good things in life with good people around you. Sit back and take in our trending guide whilst
enjoying a warming cup of tea, the perfect Scandinavian way.
Layering
textures
As the nights close in for these wintry months
it’s time to cozy up in thick, cable knit throws, add plenty of rustic charm
with baskets to store and accessorize - perfect for the cozy, rustic look.
Plenty of candles should adorn your ‘Hygge’ home,
creating a warm friendly feel. Lanterns are perfect, style them up in sizes to
create depth. Mix woods and chromes to get a modern/rustic feel.
Social
style

The living room is a social space that welcomes
the family and friends in for an evening of relaxation and quality times. It’s
key to echo that friendly feel with layered up cushions and throws for guests
to snuggle up on the sofa. Create a welcoming space with scented candles and a
good selection of coffee table books.
After an evening spent enjoying simple life
pleasures in your beautiful home, why not take a calming retreat to your
bedroom? Making this space ease you in
to rest with its deep atmospheric walls and subtle choice in lighting will
create a perfect space to snuggle up and read a book.

We've been championing the Mixed Materials Trend during 2016
in a lot of our Kitchen images and we believe this trend will only grow in
strength during 2017. By
bringing natural materials into our home we add a connection to a lifestyle
that celebrates and embraces nature and its unique imperfections. Below are some of our favourite
examples.

Surface design that
mimics nature

The Stone Blue facia utilises the latest technology in surface
design. The textured surface of the wood grain effect makes it a great solid wood replica
with all the benefits of a laminate. This has been layered with tonal marble
and cool greys for an elegant and refined look.
By using the textured Walnut facia in the industrial style kitchen,
warmth has been added to the palette. The tactile mix of textured Walnut, embossed
tin wall tiles with textured slate lends personality to the clutter free
kitchen.
Exposing
and unifying the look

The skylight in the Oak Shaker kitchen is divided by textured
wooden beams and exposed sandstone, creating contrasts with the slick finish of
the painted plaster. What we choose to expose and hide creates an interesting
commentary for any contemporary kitchen.
Mixing materials doesn’t always require contrasting textures. The
matt doors, matt walls and semi-matt floor tiles combine the same texture but
still allow to stand out in the kitchen. The use of one grey hue ties the look
together.

Here is a real-life horror story, team Set Vision’s
transformation is eerily…normal. This terror of tails was created by our very
own retouching department who took true delight in transforming our MDs! Quite
a side step of their daily tasks of retouching our lifestyle photography and
bespoke CGI designs. This family of true terrors wish you all a screamin’
Halloweeeeeeen!

Welcome to our first Trend VLOG! Our lovely Head Photographic Stylist
Nina chats through all things green, which is one of the big colour
contenders over the last few seasons, from vibrant flashes to deep and
moody hues.
Over the past year greens have been interpreted through the Botanical
and Tropical Jungle trends, which have strongly rooted their way across
interior and homeware design, fusing from contemporary to classic
styling.

These contemporary CGI visuals are based on a high end gloss
cashmere kitchen door for a national kitchen supplier. Concealed strip lighting is a modern architectural feature, with quirky open ended storage in the island. Mood lighting is
key to the atmosphere, with designer glass pendants adding a soft intimate lifestyle
feel.

The following cameo shots successfully show the features and
benefits within the range, up-selling to the consumer. Our in-house Art Direction and commercial understanding
of client’s products is key to producing these groups of shots with set design,
interior trends and CG camera all contributing to the success.
